The History

Innovation has always been an integral part of Zelisko’s DNA. Just ten years after the company was founded by Dr. Josef Zelisko in Lower Austria in 1918, it was already setting new standards with its Evolute Transformer technology.

After the Second World War, the company started producing instrument transformers and telephony products. Its engineers made an important contribution to the development of Austria’s infrastructure, supplying everything from signaling systems and ticket printers to instrument transformers and computerized rail transmission technology. In 2002, Zelisko became one of the first companies in the world to produce LED trackside signals, and has been a global pioneer of smart grid sensors since 2012.

Today, Zelisko is an established part of the Knorr-Bremse Group . As a leading supplier of energy technology and signaling and mobility management systems, the company makes a major contribution to achieving the highest efficiency and safety standards in the rail, mass transit and energy markets.
